The Global Hepatology Network is a robust research and clinical collaboration built on partnerships across multiple countries. Key clinical collaborations include Medellín, Colombia (Prof. Navas), and Asunción, Paraguay (Prof. Girala), alongside basic science projects on chronic liver disease with the University of Buenos Aires (Prof. Ridruejo, Dr. Alvarez). The network extends to experts in San Antonio, Texas, USA (Dr. Gomez Aldana), the National Cancer Institutes in Kazakhstan (Dr. Yesmembetov) and China (Dr. Qian), as well as the State Key Laboratory of Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases in China (Prof. Li, Dr. Wang). This global collaboration drives joint efforts in chronic liver disease research, including the collection of international patient cohorts, radiomics analyses of hepatobiliary cancers, genetic profiling, and the identification of novel viral causes of chronic liver disease.
